Hebrew Browser Tests

The following are test pages that verify correct bidi handling of HTML and CSS.

  1. Standard Hebrew text. This page contains plain Hebrew text. The HTML header "<HTML lang=he dir=rtl>" specifies that the language is Hebrew and the base direction of the document is right to left. See the bidi logical order in action. Try changing the size of the window; Changing the size of the font; Cutting and pasting to your word processor and other applications. Check the page title in the windows title bar, in the browser backward and forward references and in the bookmarks. The scroll bar moves to the left hand side of the window. The charset is ISO-8859-8-i.
  2. Hebrew with Niqud (points). This page contains Hebrew text with Niqud (points). It is chapter 1 of the book of Obadia. Try various fonts and sizes. Check the page title in the windows title bar, in the browser backward and forward references and in the bookmarks. The charset is Windows-1255.
  3. HTML 4 "Bidi" attributes in action. Clicking "Switch" dynamically changes the dir attribute - the base direction - of the page from RTL to LTR and back.
  4. Frame test 1. Neutral frameset and frames with different encodings.
  5. Frame test 2. RTL frameset and frames with different encodings.
  6. Color test. Does a change of attributes confuse the bidi processing?
